Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival — Airport → Negombo
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. Meet and greet by FlyCeylon representative. Transfer to beach hotel in Negombo. Time to rest and recover from the long-haul flight.
Negombo Coast & Lagoon
Breakfast at hotel. Lagoon boat ride through mangroves. Visit fishing village and local fish market. Free time at the beach.
Negombo → Anuradhapura
Breakfast and check-out. Drive to Anuradhapura. En route, visit Munneshwaram Hindu Temple. Visit ancient stupas and monasteries. Evening at leisure by the lake.
Anuradhapura — UNESCO Heritage Day
Guided tour of Anuradhapura UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sri Maha Bodhi Sacred Tree — one of the oldest trees in the world, grown from a cutting of the tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. Ruwanwelisaya and other key monuments. Afternoon free for rest.
Anuradhapura → Sigiriya
Early breakfast and check-out. Drive to Sigiriya. Afternoon village safari and traditional local lunch. Leisure time at nature resort.
Sigiriya Rock & Wildlife Safari
Early morning Sigiriya Rock Fortress climb — ascending 1,200 steps past ancient frescoes, the Mirror Wall, and the iconic Lion's Paw entrance to the summit with 360° views. Return to hotel for rest. Afternoon Minneriya or Kaudulla elephant safari (4x4 jeep) — witness the famous Great Elephant Gathering.
Polonnaruwa Excursion
Breakfast. Day excursion to Polonnaruwa Ancient City. Explore ruins by bicycle or walking. Visit Gal Vihara — four magnificent rock-carved Buddha figures. Return to Sigiriya area by afternoon.
Dambulla → Kandy
Breakfast and check-out. Visit Dambulla Golden Cave Temple — the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka with 5 caves, ancient murals, and 150+ Buddha statues. Spice garden visit en route. Drive to Kandy. Evening walk around Kandy Lake.
Kandy Culture Day
Breakfast. Visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) — Sri Lanka's holiest Buddhist shrine. Kandy city exploration — gem museum, batik workshops, local markets. Scenic Train — Kandy to Nanu Oya → Nuwara Eliya
Breakfast and check-out. Scenic train journey Kandy to Nanu Oya — one of the most photographed rail journeys in the world, winding through misty tea estates, bridges, and tunnels. Drive to Nuwara Eliya. Tea plantation and factory visit. Evening at leisure.
Nuwara Eliya — 'Little England'
Breakfast. Visit Haggala Botanical Garden — over 2,000 species of plants in stunning colonial-era grounds. Gregory Lake leisure time — boat rides and lakeside walks. Walk around the colonial town center — Queen's Cottage, Grand Hotel, Hill Club, and the 1894 Post Office.
Nuwara Eliya → Ella
Breakfast and check-out. Drive through the stunning hill country to Ella. Visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge — built in 1921 entirely of brick, stone, and cement without any steel. Evening hike to Little Adam's Peak for a spectacular sunset over Ella Gap.
Ella → Yala Area
Breakfast. Morning hike to Ella Rock — a challenging trek rewarding you with sweeping views over Ella Gap and the southern plains. Relaxed lunch and café time in Ella village. Afternoon transfer to the Yala National Park area.
Yala National Park Safari
Early morning safari in Yala National Park — Sri Lanka's premier wildlife sanctuary with the world's highest leopard density per square kilometer. Track leopards on rocky outcrops, watch elephant herds at waterholes, and photograph painted storks at coastal lagoons. Return to hotel for afternoon leisure.
Yala → Tangalle Beach

Galle → Colombo
